Inside Out

It is tranquil, grounding and all inspiring. The roof as if inside of a nine petal flower as it unfolds. Each petals’ life source vine intertwined in the center. Expansive, uplifting, and an unexpected powerful invitation to BE. Pictures and cameras are not allowed; thus, the powerful resonance of feeling the spiritually inspired space to embed and invite in the community of people unknown to one another and connected.

The experience is feeling all the particles of life force enter the lungs and then go out to the perimeter of the body. Like being inside the delicate purity of a flower about to blossom, is the sense of the moment and the timelessness present. Experience not described, and instead felt with each breath coming inside the body and expanding capacity to feel these particles of nutrient infused substance called air, typically unnoticed, unfelt, assumed.

A month and a half after the experience*, focus on breath feels shifted, a felt sensation of moving from the inside outward. Close the eyes - breathe - can you feel, visualize, imagine this?

Our life is designed to be lived from the inside out. All that external swirling is there to invite us to the inside. To remind us of the bodies mechanism to balance; balance begins with inward focus.

While all of this is somewhat known in the energy of thought,  it is the unexpected coming up of the not-to-be-ignored invitation of a single, precious, moment of awareness that demands the noticing, if there is an opening to notice.

Openings to notice are cultivated in many ways:

  • Slowing down to the speed of life.**

  • Planned pauses plus willingness to embrace unexpected pauses as reminders to embrace the moment

  • Meditation, tai chi, yoga, sound baths

  • Mindfulness practices, especially breath centered approaches

  • Laughing at one’s self often

  • Sitting or standing or lying for a few moments feeling and observing body sensations.

  • Reflective writing

  • Gratitude journaling

  • Vulnerable conversations of heart opening

  • Temper tantrums (planned)

  • Lions breath

  • Nature immersion – a few minutes to hours meandering in the outdoors

Upcoming offerings designed to prepare for an invite opening inward to include: three in-person and two online classes weekly, and soon to be available on-demand ‘Feel to Heal; Accessing the Energy Pathways of the Body’ series, plus one on one private sessions.

*The experience took place Jan. 22, 2023 at the Bahai Temple, Santiago, Chile.

* *Also the title of a good book from the 90’s.
